On Monday, Good Morning Americaunveiled two public service announcements featuring their female co-anchor, who beat her fight against myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) TWICE, after receiving bone marrow from her sister, Sally-Ann.
Now recovered, Roberts, 53, is working tirelessly to recruit potential bone marrow donors, particularly in the African-American community, and to support research that could help patients suffering from blood cancers like the one that threatened her life. The PSAs are a joint effort between Be the Match up and Stand up to Cancer. Anyone looking to support Be the Match or to join their bone marrow registry can click here or call (800) 507-5427. -TheeBlackSocialite Source Image: Stand up to Cancer
